Father McGivney feeding program for the poor kicks-off

The Father McGivney Office – Phil- ippines, in collaboration with the Sisters of the Holy Face of Jesus and Hands for the Poor Founda- tion, launched the Father McGivney Feeding Program last July 20, 2015 at the Holy Face Center in Quiapo, Manila.
At the launching, about 50 chil- dren from the poorest communities around Quiapo area were invited. They were given food, shirt and a short catechism.
The Father McGivney feeding program for the poor was conceived to coincide with the initiatives of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) that de- clared 2015 as the Year of the Poor.
Close to the heart of Fr. Mc- Givney who organized the Knights of Columbus from the penury of Irish migrants to the United States, the feeding program has continued every weekend after the July launch.
Presently, the feeding program is brought to the homeless right where they are located around Manila.
