Father Michael McGivney’s image to take 3 years pilgrimage in Luzon State

Luzon State Deputy Arsenio Isidro Yap

The pilgrimage of Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney’s image will reach as many council as it can for 3 years, according to Luzon State Deputy Arsenio Yap last Friday, May 4 during the turn-over of the image to Council 1000 in Intramuros.

“We can only allocate few days of stay of the image of Fr. McGivney because we have as more than 1,100 councils in our jurisdiction. Even if we only give each council a day, it would still take the image 3 years to complete the round. So it’s going to be like a continuing procession on daily basis to complete the rounds of 1,000 plus councils from Luzon alone,” Yap said.

Brian Caulfield, the vice postulator for the cause to sainthood of Fr. Michael J. McGivney explained that the image of the Venerable has travelled all the way from New Haven in the United States to the Philippines.

“We are very proud that the Supreme Council trusted the image to the Philippines, there’s no better place we think towards the devotion of Father McGivney than here in your country. The Supreme Knight said that the great people of the Philippines will be faithful and bring forth the miracle for the Fr. Michael J. McGivney’s [cause],” Caulfield said.

Caulfield also thanked the Luzon Deputy, Assistant State Chaplain, brother Knights and the Squires for their continued support to the cause of Venerable Michael J. McGivney. (Jandel Posion)
