Postulator from Rome visits Knights in Manila

Describing the Philippines as a faithful and devout Catholic country, Dr. Andrea Ambrosi expressed confidence that a miracle will be found here for the Cause of Father McGivney. Dr. Ambrosi, postulator for Father McGivney’s Cause for Canonization, traveled from Rome in late January to meet with Knights of Columbus leaders in Manila and discuss the best ways to promote the cause of the Order’s founder. His presence underscored the serious effort that the Knights are making to find a miracle that is needed for Father McGivney to be beatified.

Over the course of three days, Dr. Ambrosi met with K of C leaders Alonso Tan, Supreme Director from the Philippines; Hilario Davide, Chairman of the Board of KCFAPI; and the three jurisdictional deputies: Arsenio Yap of Luzon, Rodrigo Sorongon of Visayas and Balbino Fauni of Mindanao. He explained the canonization process and the exacting standards for the recognition of a miracle. He also said that it is almost certain that a miracle through Father McGivney’s intercession has already occurred, since so many of the 1.8 million Knights and their families are already praying to him. The key in finding a miracle is to get more people in the Philippines to become aware of the Cause and to encourage them to report favors received.

“Miracles come from prayerful places like the Philippines,” he said. (Brian Caulfield)
