Fr. McGivney Pilgrimage kicks off in Visayas

The pilgrimage of Venerable Michael J. McGivney’s statue in Visayas kicked off Sept. 16 with thousands of people in attendance. Fr. McGivney is the founder of the K of C and whose cause for canonization is strongly being promoted in the Philippines. Earlier this year, the US-based K of C Supreme Office sent four 4-foot tall and gold-colored statues of Fr. McGivney to the Philippines. McGivney Prayer Card, now available in 5 dialects

As part of the promotion of the Cause for the Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney, the Father McGivney Office – Philippines produced canonization prayer cards in five dialects: Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilonggo, Ilocano, and Bicolano. These prayer cards are to be circulated in various dioceses over the three jurisdictions of the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines, with the initial distribution beginning last April 27 – 29 at the Manila Hotel, during the 9th Knights of Columbus Philippine National Convention. The official website of the Father McGivney Office – Philippines was launched last May 3, 2012 at the Conference Room of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. The website www.fathermcgivney.ph showcases various news and feature stories about Father McGivney and the latest updates on the Cause for his canonization.
