Father Michael McGivney may not be a household name. Not yet. But efforts by a group of Filipino youth are fruitful, the founder of the Knights of Columbus will one day be recognized as John Vianney, Padre Pio, and John Paul II. The YouthPinoy (YP), a network of different Catholic youth organizations, has volunteered to help promote Fr. McGivney’s cause for canonization during the week-long World Youth Day celebrations in Krakow, Poland in July. Michael McGivney was promoted at the 51st International Eucharistic Congress in Cebu City last January 24 – 31, 2016. With the assistance of Areopagus Communications, Inc., Fr. The Father McGivney Office – Phil- ippines, in collaboration with the Sisters of the Holy Face of Jesus and Hands for the Poor Founda- tion, launched the Father McGivney Feeding Program last July 20, 2015 at the Holy Face Center in Quiapo, Manila. With the knock of hammer and the swish of brooms clearing up debris: life goes on in a coastal village of Hernani, Eastern Samar four months after Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) devastated parts of Central Visayas. On the side of heavily damaged houses, the buzz of chainsaws roared across the village of Garawon as people put their lives back together. Donated by the Knights of Columbus, the chainsaws were among the aid that the Order has provided to help victims rebuild their homes in Eastern Samar and Leyte.
